2/2 - 2/6 2009

Recently, President Obama admitted to making a mistake in supporting Tom Daschle as the nominee for his health and human services secretary. Daschle admitted to not disclosing monetary gifts and services, and therefore had to pay more on his taxes. He explained it was a mistake, but this implies there is a double standard for the "average" American, and the "powerful" American. President Obama emphasized during the campaign that he wanted to rid America of corrupt politics and double standards, but this was a clear violation of that rule he set for himself and his administration.

Watch the video below, and answer the following questions in your post.

1. Is there a double standard in America?

2. Is it wise for a President to admit mistakes? Why or why not?

3. Which President does President Obama reference? Why does he reference him?
